Our services

Personal. With the flexibility to make your bike holiday unique.

General information

  • Since we do not have fixed dates and times, you can be flexible with your arrangements and bookings.

  • Not as such. We do not organise group tours. We are, however, happy to organise holidays for groups. Please get in touch to tell us what you have in mind and we will be able to advise.

  • On your arrival, we will introduce ourselves and explain your cycling holiday information pack. We will talk about the route, what you can look forward to and go over gps navigation.

If needed, we will talk you through the GPS app (Ride With GPS), and make sure everything is loaded correctly.

  • This includes detailed route maps, local information about places of interest on each tour, as well as our own ‘off the beaten track’ local recommendations.

The maps and tour information we provide are easy to follow and can also include short-cuts, ‘extra miles’ or other detour options depending on your interests.

We will have send you the routes before you will arrive here.

  • We use a variety of tried and tested accommodations in our region of various standards from specialist B&Bs to top quality hotels, depending on the chosen tour or your preference.

  • Should you have any problems on the road – call us, we are here to sort things out and get you back under way.

Booking and Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions form the basis of our contract with you. We will be doing our very best to make sure things work out, but in booking with us (Galloway Cycling Holidays) we assume you have agreed to them.

Booking

Your tour leader/contact person is responsible for your booking with us and our contract is with them. They are responsible for all payments for the group. We assume that you are aware of the hazards of cycling, and are healthy enough to undertake a cycling holiday.

Quoted prices for your accommodation is for 2 people sharing. Single occupancy can be booked, but will often cost more than the sharing price.

Breakfasts are included, unless self-catering accommodation is used. Linear (place to place) tours that include luggage transfer are priced to include this service in your booking price.

Guided tours with us at your side can be added to your holiday at additional cost.

Alteration to your booking

When you need to alter your booking we will be trying our very best to change things, but there will be occasions when this is impossible. There may be a service charge for this work.

Payment

The full balance of your holiday with us needs to be paid not less than 6 weeks prior to your arrival. If full payment is not made, we reserve the rights to treat the booking as cancelled by you. Our usual cancellation policy (see below) will be in effect at that point.

Tour Deposit

A booking is accepted by us:
a) when we confirm the holiday availability and cost, and
b) on receipt of the deposit payment within 7 days of agreement of route details and accommodation

To complete a booking we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total holiday cost within 7 days of  agreement of route and accommodation. The final payment will be requested at least 6 weeks before starting the holiday.

Deposits are normally non-refundable, but to date we have a sympathetic policy with a proportion returned according to the tour preparation work done. Please see our cancellation policy for more detailed information.

We comply with the EEC Package Travel Directive 1992. Your deposit and full payment is held in a separate bank account until your holiday has been completed.

Payment Methods

We accept payment in UK pounds sterling using debit or credit card. Bank transfers (wire transfers) also work fine and credit or debit cards can be used. We request customers pay any transaction and bank administration charges.

We often use WISE for international transactions because of the low transfer and conversion charges. If you prefer to pay with a credit card, we can send out a Online Payment request via SumUp , but would ask for a 3% surcharge of the holiday costs to cover the the system’s administration fees.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel

This does not happen very often and we will be trying to find alternatives. Any time after you have confirmed your holiday, let us know as soon as possible that you or a member of your group can no longer come.

If you need to cancel your trip however we will charge a percentage of your holiday price as follows:

  • until 30 days before starting your trip: 25% of the entire holiday price

  • from 29th to 15th day: 40% of the entire holiday price

  • from 14th - 7th day: 80% of the entire holiday price

  • from 6th day of the your planned trip, or on no show: 90% of the entire holiday price

If you cannot finish your trip due to unforeseen  circumstances on your part, we cannot refund any of your holidays payments.

If we need to cancel

Let's hope this never happens. But if it does, we will try to find an alternative holiday for you or refund 100% of your payments to us.

Loss or damage

If you hire our bicycles, and/or helmets then bikes/helmets are your responsibility for the duration of your holidays, and all damage or loss is at your expense.

Insurance

Medical costs and returning you to your home can run up a very big bill. By booking with us we assume that you have coverage or travel insurance sufficient for an active cycling holiday.

If we fail to get you to the train station on time for some unforeseen circumstances, we can not be held responsible. This should be taken up with your insurance company for refund.
Road conditions or weather may force us to change your itinerary and we reserve the right to change routes or accommodation as required without liability.
