July 2019
Galloway Cycling Holidays has received the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere Certification Mark for Sustainable Business Development in 2019 and 2022.
This accreditation evidences and highlights our ongoing commitment to our region and environment, ethos and quality business practices.
What does it mean in practice to make ours a sustainable tourism business? Here are some of Galloway Cycling Holidays’ business methods and practices:
We try as much as possible to have at least 2 nights stay in on hotel.
That way we have less milage to drive for luggage transfers
The hotels have less cleaning (and washing of linen) to do
You can relax and learn more about that regional culture (there is lots to discover!)
We use environmentally friendly cleaning products for our bikes
We recycle bike bits as much as possible
We collaborate with like-minded businesses and also promote good-quality local businesses
By slow(er), sustainable travel, you will become more aware of our and the global environment and efforts to look after it.
