2025 - We went out and did stuff
The first leaf of the Rhubarb is up! Should it be this early? Earlier than last year even and four weeks ahead of the snowdrops. You have to see this as a good sign and I will take the win. Spring is not that far off, a couple of turns of the wall calendar with the shortest day soon enough. We made it, and 2025 was good to us.
Social media is mostly rubbish, beyond dogs being happy and full of joy when they find ‘ forever homes ‘. We put quite an effort into our instagram feed and always carry a camera ( not a phone ). Meeting at art college in Edinburgh we have always made images and art, so instagram is an easy outlet.
What were we doing this time last year? Oh wow, look what we did this year and gosh did we cram all that into 2025. It is all there when you click the profile, a grid of photos taken on adventures. They are there to inspire others to get out and do things. On a grey day it can get dark at 3.00pm here in Scotland and it helps to see what you have done and start to plan for this week, next month, next year.
We were busy with guests this year. The whole range of what we offer, from gravel to eBike adventures and even the high adrenaline of working with VIP’s racing the UCI Gralloch gravel race. No one got lost, thanks to the gps phone system we use and we had just a single puncture. 5 Star reviews and the pure joy of showing off this gem of a corner of Scotland. It is unknown and it takes more effort to get people to come here, but everyone falls in love with the riding we have here.
We fell in love with our area all over again this week when we rode to places we had neglected for more than five years. A loop from our door of 51 miles that ended after dark because we stopped so often. We had a route in the gps, but we left it and improvised less than half way round as we were having such fun. “ Let’s go to the coast “. Why don’t we come here and why has it been so long? Well we can see from Instagram that we got out and did stuff that is obvious, but Galloway has so many options. You do need a plan and a bag packed with the coffee making stuff.
